WhatsApp has recently launched a wonderful opportunity to bareback up chats and other data with the help of Google Drive. The WhatsApp users can save their chats, audio and video messages as well as pictures on the cloud as long as they want them to be stored. To save the WhatsApp chat on Google cloud, users must connect their WhatsApp account with their Google account. A user can effectively backup his data on Google Drive once in a week or once in a month with the help of Wi-Fi.
Now the question arises, why WhatsApp has introduced the facility for the users to save their chats? There are many users who frequently change their phones and they lose the data related to the WhatsApp chat. This new feature introduced by WhatsApp will enable these users to store all their chats on Google Drive which can be retrieved on the new phone at any time.
WhatsApp made an announcement in August 2018 that, if users do not update their chats and data before 12th November 2018, then the previous data will be deleted from Google Drive. The existing users who are using WhatsApp on their current handset for over a year will not face such data loss but, the active users who have reinstalled the Whatsapp or recently changed their handset will go through the data loss.
